Thief arrested

Dear Residents,

A male has been arrested following multiple reports made to Kent Police of someone attempting car door handles along Sandyhurst Lane and in the wider local area.

Beat officers from Ashford CSU responded swiftly when calls began to come in yesterday morning regarding suspicious activity. Fast-track CCTV enquiries conducted by beat officers led to a quick identification of a potential suspect. As a result, a local male was arrested shortly before lunchtime on the same day.

In addition to the arrest, officers were able to recover all reported stolen property, including tools worth approximately £4000. The male remains in police custody at this time and police continue to try and identify anyone else who may have been a victim.

This incident highlights the proactive and immediate response of your local Beat officers in bringing offenders to justice and providing reassurance to the community. Incidents of this nature have no place in our area, and we will continue working hard to ensure they remain rare.
